Numerology Calculator: What's Your Life Path Number?
In numerology, your birth date carries one number woven through your whole journey — your Life Path number. Enter your birth date and the calculator will work it out and explain what it means, free, no signup.
In shortYour Life Path number comes from reducing the day, month and year of your birth date to a single digit each, adding them, and reducing again — while 11 and 22 are kept as master numbers.
What is a Life Path number?
The Life Path number is numerology's central number — the one derived from your full birth date, read as the guiding line of your journey: the strengths that come naturally and the challenges that repeat. It isn't a horoscope and it isn't a prediction: it's a lens, one more way to look at yourself through the language of numbers.
How does the calculator work?
The rule: reduce each part of the date — day, month and year — to a single digit separately, add the three, and reduce again. Got 11 or 22 along the way? Those are kept as master numbers. For example, 14 February 1990: the day 14 → 5, the month 2, the year 1990 → 1, and 5+2+1 = 8. The Life Path number is 8. The calculator does all of this for you and shows the meaning instantly.
What do you do with the number?
Start with the meaning above, then try your tarot birth card, which works on the same idea of reducing a date but returns a Major Arcana card instead of a digit — and see whether the two tell the same story.
Numerology is a tool for reflection and inspiration, not science and not a certain forecast. Take from the number what lights something up, not what limits you.
FAQ
How do you calculate a Life Path number?
Reduce each part of your birth date — day, month and year — to a single digit separately, add the three, and reduce again to one digit. If 11 or 22 appears along the way, keep it — those are master numbers. The calculator here does all of this automatically.
What are master numbers 11 and 22?
Numbers that are not reduced, considered to carry special power and potential: 11 as heightened intuition and inspiration (a version of 2), and 22 as the 'master builder' who manifests a vision (a version of 4).
Is numerology a science?
No. It has no scientific basis and does not predict the future. It's a symbolic tool for self-reflection, worth exactly as much as the insights it opens — not a verdict on who you are.
